"For I was in prison, and you visited me."
– Jesus (Matt 25:36)
La Crosse Jail Ministry has created a program called “Circles of Support.”
A circle consists of three to four adults who are trained volunteers that meet weekly for six months with an individual—called a core person—who is being released from jail. This program offers the core person help while they work to reintegrate into society. The volunteers are mentors, companions, and caring people whose goal is to create a trusting relationship with the released inmate to help them learn alternatives to incarceration and provide them with community resources.
We are grateful for the members of our church who are currently serving in a circle of support.
