Special events throughout the year normally include:

  • Anniversary Sunday (near February 14) – we recognize members of the congregation who are celebrating their 10,20,30,40,50,60th anniversary of marriage
  • Youth Sunday (Mid February) – the high school youth plan and lead Sunday worship
  • Camp Sunday (End of February) – we highlight the opportunities at Pilgrim Center and Moon Beach Camp — the two United Church of Christ camps in Wisconsin
  • Lenten Fair (Palm Sunday ) – a wonderful inter-generational event after 10am worship, with craft activities for all ages, all focused on the Christian symbols for Lent and Easter
  • Jazz Sunday (the Sunday after Easter) – Al Townsend’s Wonderful World Jazz Band provides the music and worship leadership for our 10am service
  • Bible Presentation Sunday (Early May) – the fourth graders are presented with a Bible during the 10am service; the students and their families enjoy a breakfast before the worship service
  • Children’s Sunday (the Sunday before Memorial Day) – the Sunday School children lead worship, present skits and songs during the 10am service
  • Renewal Sunday (the Sunday after Labor Day) – the first day back to Sunday School, usually includes an ice cream social following the 10am service
  • Heritage Sunday (the last Sunday in September) – we honor members who have been part of the church for 45 years or longer
  • Confirmation Sunday (the first Sunday in October) – tenth graders confirm their faith and join the church during the 10am service
  • All Saints Day (a Sunday near November 1) – we remember and give thanks for family and friends who have died in the past year
  • Meal of Thanksgiving (the Sunday before Thanksgiving) – a grand feast for the entire congregation, following the 10am service
  • Advent Workshop (the first Sunday in December) – a wonderful inter-generational event after 10am worship, with craft activities for all ages, all focused on the Christian symbols for Advent and Christmas
  • Nativity Pageant  (5pm on the Sunday evening before Christmas Eve) Sunday School children and youth present a nativity pageant, enacting the story of Jesus’ birth
  • Christmas Eve Worship (5pm and 8pm) – a service of candlelight and carols, a simple and beautiful service that focuses on the wonder and joy of Christmas; appropriate for all ages
